We are launching an experiment on our YouTube Channel-online lessons, free to the public. They, for the moment, are basic as far as production goes but the actual lessons are geared for players from the beginner to the intermediate.

As time goes on we expect to add more lessons, more instruments, more instructors and more camera angles with better audio. In the meantime, enjoy our first lesson with Christophe Rodriguez, one our instructors here at Stix in Time. This lesson is entitled, Classical Guitar 101: Fingerpicking.

We were extremely honored to team up with local musician's Michael McConaha (lead vocals, guitar and song writer), Eric Pingle (drums) and there friends from their former band Live Bait. Eric has been a long-time partner and friend of Stix In Time and we were able to play a small role in making sure that his friend and lead singer of 25 years, Michael McConaha, was ready for the video shoot and concert for his debut single "High on the Hog". The single was recorded at the legendary Hilltop Studio in Nashville with many of the same studio musicians who have worked on all of Garth Brooks' CD's. The video was directed by Jason Cook, star of ABC's "General Hospital" and formerly of "The Young and the Restless".

The push is on to get the single on the radio and the video in rotation on the major video television networks. There is already label interest for McConaha in Nashville and he has been in talks with producers from The Conan O'Brien Show for a possible live performance.

Please help us promote the video and to get Eric and Michael out on the road. You can find more information on Michael at ReverbNation.com and you can also find Eric there as well.

Make sure to watch the video in Hi Def and click through to YouTube to like and share the video.

He has also started a clothing line with a mission to help fight cancer and he assists local businesses with marketing and social media.

Michael McConaha, Pingle's best friend and lead singer of their on-again-off-again band, Live Bait, has been in Nashville for the past 12 years pursuing a song writing career and for the past 2 years has been working with some of the top song writers in Music City. He has been working closely with Stan Webb who penned Tracy Byrd's 1998 smash hit "I'm From the Country and I Like it That Way".

McConaha's original song, "High On the Hog", recently caught the attention of Hollywood actor/writer/director, Jason Cook, a star on ABC's General Hospital, and he contacted McConaha about doing a music video for the song for national broadcast and radio airplay. McConaha and Pingle immediately began work on a Live Bait reunion concert, to be held in New Lexington, where Jason Cook's crew will film live footage for the video and give Michael and Eric a chance to show the world where they came from and share the experience with the fans who have supported them since the beginning. The second day of filming will take place on set at a location that will be determined soon.

McConaha and Pingle went to Hilltop Recording Studio just north of Nashville on April 24th where they were honored and privileged to have the entire Garth Brooks studio band lay down the music track for "High On the Hog". It was a rare chance for the band to work together on a project outside of Garth Brooks and it also set McConaha and Pingle up for better opportunity at promoting the project to television and radio.

Keep in mind, this is all taking place without the help of a record deal or professional management. They're not even represented by an agent at this point! Needless to say, they are not taking any of this for granted and they are working hard knowing that they are being blessed with a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Over the past couple of years, Eric Pingle and Stix In Time have had a close relationship that is both personal and professional and they will continue to work together throughout this project and beyond. Stix In Time will be involved in the concert and video shoot and Pingle will be playing his Mapex Meridian Birch drum kit and Sabian HH/AAX cymbals he purchased here at our shop. Live Bait will also be using the ZT Lunchbox amp that is locally exclusive to Stix In Time.

Stay tuned here for more updates as we get closer to the event and you can contact us for ticket information as well. The concert/video shoot will be held at the Perry County Fairgrounds Coliseum on June 25th from 8-11pm. Tickets are $10 each and all proceeds from the event will go towards the video budget.
